Build a new component
Workflow86 AI is currently in private beta. Join the waitlist to get access
Workflow86 AI can configure a single component within a workflow with contextual knowledge about the input placeholders from upstream components in the workflow.
Starting a component build
To use the AI to configure a component, open the AI inside of a component panel or open the AI chat and then open a component. This will then enable the component specific actions the AI can take. Then select Build new component.
You can then start describing your instructions for how you want the AI to configure this component.
The AI has access to the following information which will be automatically provided to it when responding to your message:
- add input placeholders i.e. the AI understands what placeholders from upstream components it can use
- available and connected databases if the component is a database component (Create Database Record, Update Database Record, Query Database)
- all components connected into it if it is a Merge Workflow component
The Build new component option is best suited for configuring new components that are empty and have not yet been configured. If you wish to make changes to an existing component that already has been configured, choose the Edit component option instead.
Performing a component build inside of an existing component will overwrite the current configuration of the component with a new configuration.
Note that if you provide a requirement that does not match the functionality of the component, the AI will may return a refusal message
Reviewing the AI response
Once you have submitted your instruction, the component will go into a loading state while it waits for the AI to configure it.
Once the AI is done configuring the component, a preview of this configuration will be loaded into the component. Note the banner at the top - while an AI configuration is loaded into the component, any changes you make will not be saved.
From here you can check whether the AI has configured the component to your requirements.
::: important
Changes will not be saved while AI response preview is loaded
Note that while the AI response is loaded into the component, any changes you make will not be saved i.e. if you add, remove or change something on top of the AI response, these will be discarded.
When the AI response is loaded into a Form, Form Section or Assign Task, opening a question and then closing it will also not save the form. :::
Sending another message or instruction
If you need to make additional adjustments or changes, you can send the AI additional messages or instructions. The AI will then provide another response and configuration of the component factoring in your additional message or instructions.
Saving the AI component configuration
If everything looks correct, click Save component to accept the AI configuration and save it to the component.
Making additional changes after a component build
Once a component has been built or configured by the AI, you can make changes to it manually and/or request the AI to make edits to it using the AI's edit component feature
