Query Workflow Data

This component is being deprecated

It is recommended that if you need to query data from your workflow, you perform this using the Database and Query Database. Create a new database with the columns you require and then use the query database component to perform queries as required.

Query Workflow Data#

All workflows store data for every workflow session that is run or has been started. You can find, extract and use this data via the Query Workflow Data component. This effectively allows you to have one workflow pull the data from another workflow. For example, you might have a workflow for collecting user sign ups, and then you want to query the data collected by that workflow in a user newsletter workflow.

To get started, select the workflow you want to extract data from via the dropdown menu. You will see a list of all workflows that you have access to in your organisation.

You can now start configuring the data query by clicking "Add Data Query". There are three types of data queries that can be performed.

Types of queries you can perform#

Select column#

This will return all values in the selected column as a list e.g. return all values in the "Name" column.

Return data if a condition is met#

This allows you to create the equivalent of an SQL SELECT * WHERE query. It will return the data from a column where the condition for that column or another column is true e.g. you can have the query return the values from a "Name" column where the "Age" column is greater than "50".

For more details about the functions you can use in your conditional statements, see โžก here

Return count if condition is met#

This functions like the "Return data if a condition is met" query, except that instead of returning a list of data, it will output a simple count e.g. you can have the query return the number of entries in the "Age" column which are over "50".

For more details about the functions you can use in your statements, see โžก here

Load more data in the preview#

By default, only the first 20 rows of data are loaded in the preview at the bottom of the page. To view more rows of data in the preview, click the "Load more rows" button.
